Sprint World Cups

Our Senior female athlete Jenny Egan-Simmons was away representing club and country in the senior women’s K1 5K.  First canoe sprint world cup was in Racice, Czech with 25 athletes entered Jenny got away to a poor start, but with her never give up attitude she chased hard to finish 4th and only 4.52 secs off Bronze.

After a tough 5k in Racice Jenny was straight off to Poznan, Poland where she would race the second and final 5k of the world cup series.  Jenny was determined to finish the series with a medal and this weekend with the added excitement of two portages this was Jenny’s last chance.  After a much better start and two clean portages Jenny was in the mix for the medals! In an exciting sprint finish Jenny won a Bronze medal for her hard work in the senior women’s K1 5k.

This was a special Moment for Jenny as it was her 10th Canoe Sprint medal.
