Odhran Henson, Oisin Mullingan and Cormac Slattery
Junior Girls K1:
The world cup consist of both short course (3 short laps) and long course (varying on racing category).
Kate Mccarthy came home with 6th in the short course and 9th in the long, She really showed true guts in the races and was mixing it with the British dominate race. Congrats Kate on some solid results!!!
In the Junior Boys Oisin was the highest ranked Junior in both the short course with 12th Odhran 13th Cormac 14th. Then in the long Oisin finished 33rd Odhran 45th out of 80 on the startling! well done gents some great results!
In the Senior mens sadly Brian didn’t make the final in short course to a bad start but Barry Sailed through and eventually came 2nd in a highly contested final! Congrats Barry on a Brilliant Result!! Well deserved and a long time coming!!!
In the long course of the senior mens race conditions were very windy and the change in tide made for challenging conditions… Sadly Brian took a capsize which would eventually see him dnf, But Barry was having better luck until sadly his K1 took on to much and this would see him having to exit his boat mid race. He did get to the bank and empty and carry on to finish in a creditable 10th place! congrats on some great performances.
The whole team comes away with a lot of experience and we should look forward to what the coming years bring with such a high depth of Juniors. Well done to everyone who represented both their club and country with pride.
